Coach Leslie

Hi, my name is Debbie. Most of you know my daughter Christina Principe. She is a Special Olympics swimmer. But you may not know her Coach, Leslie Runnels. If you do, you know that she has volunteered for Special Olympics for 12 Years! She is a tireless advocate for people with special needs. She is an excellent coach and mentor, taking her team to Seattle for the USA GAMES in 2018.

She has had several obstacles to face in recent years and has managed to keep going. She is a caregiver for her aging mother that has fallen several times and broken bones, requiring surgeries and recovery at home. Leslie has continued to work, volunteer and be a caregiver. Now she needs our help.

Her car engine is no longer salvageable. For her to continue to work, she needs reasonable transportation. To repair her Jeep would mean an $8500 expense.

I am hopeful that many of you can find it in your heart to be generous. Every dollar can help her with either repairing her vehicle or finding a good used one. In the meantime, at least Uber rides or a rental car.

My goal is to raise $10,000.

She is currently walking to and from work when her coworkers are unable to give her a ride. She has had to trek home in the dark, arriving at home as late as 10 pm.
