Lets start off by telling you a little bit about Coach Kasey, he is a self employed plumber, married with two small children. Coach Kasey is a devoted father, husband, coach and friend to many of us. Coach Kasey is a commited member of our community and with all of our help, we hope to give back in his time of need.
On November 11, 2016 the night of our annual SSWL Parent Meeting, Kasey thought that he had the flu due to his vomiting; sweating and bad headache. Within 48 hours Kasey was being admitted to Swedish Medical Center having a CAT scan of his head. After the CAT scan, Kasey met with the neurological team of Swedish Medical Center and was given the horrible news that he had bleeding on the brain and that he had suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm and needed emergent brain surgery.
On November 14, 2016 Kasey underwent his first surgery to coil the aneurysm and while in surgery, he suffered a stroke. During recovery his brain started to "spasm." On November 18, 2016 he was taken back to surgery where they performed an angioplasty to open a blocked artery. Kasey spent the next 15 days in the neuro ICU and then was transferred to the neuro floor for the next 3 days to recover.
Kasey has made a great recovery; however, he is yet to get back to work and is scheduled to have another surgery on February 23, 2017 to put a stint in one of the main arteries in his brain.
To make things worse, September of 2016, Kasey’s young son, Ty Cole was participating in a football scrimmage and was attempting to make a tackle when he dislocated his elbow and broke his ulna. He had to have surgery to insert a rod the length of his forearm and then was placed in a cast for the next 6 weeks thus missing the remainder of his football season and his entire SSWL wrestling season. Ty is scheduled to have another surgery in June of 2017 to remove the rod from his arm and hopefully will be ready for next year’s wrestling season.
Any contributions will help with Kasey's medical bills and his day to day expenses.
