My name is Chelsea, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my friend JC Kennedy. On November 17, JC sustained multiple injuries from a bad skating accident when he had to quickly veer to avoid running into his client who had also fallen while skating downhill. He has an anterior shoulder dislocation, his humerus is broken in two places, he had to get eleven stitches above his left eye, and he is likely facing surgery in the near future. He is receiving care through Saint Joseph Providence in Burbank and is following all of their guidance. Although the timeline and outcome are unclear, he is maintaining his positive attitude and hopes to be able to return to skating after his recovery.
I met JC almost two years ago when my son and I began taking skating lessons with him, and soon after that, he became my son’s artistic skating coach. Anyone who knows JC knows what a wonderful, generous, and supportive person he is, and now he is in need of support. This accident is a life-changing event, as he is no longer able to work and won’t be able to for some time. This financial stress and uncertainty are compounded by medical bills, which will continue to accrue for the foreseeable future. Any amount raised here will go toward helping make sure that JC and his sweet dog, Apollo, can stay afloat as he navigates this overwhelming life change. We so appreciate any help you are able to provide!
