Hello All...

This account was created to help someone who has poured his life into so many of us over the years. Coach Jack Burton. Coach has been through a lot in the last year and now needs our help. Because of his current health issues, he can't be left by himself and they had to hire someone to stay with Coach while Lynne is at work. They are having to pay $24 per hour for professional service because of his health needs. This is not sustainable for them. Please consider giving to help them financially so Coach can get the care he needs.

Coach was at Erwin High School from 1975 to 2001, where he was a teacher and coached baseball. He also coached the 1999 state championship wrestling team. He also helped coach wrestling at Hewitt High School from 2001-2021. If you were involved in wrestling in the Birmingham area from the 70s to the early 2000s, then you knew him as a high school wrestling official...one of the best around.

Below is a summary from Lynne of their journey over the last year.

2022 was a very difficult year for Coach. It started with a cancer diagnosis in January. He had four surgeries in less than six months (only one of which was related to his cancer). He is still very affected by the last surgery (which lasted ten hours) and has just come home from three months in the hospital. At this time his doctors feel that it is best if he not be left alone.
