To those of you who know Dan Ekfelt: (whether it’s as a friend, as an athlete influenced by his coaching in Football or Baseball (The Bones), as a teacher, or through his art), he could use our help.
On June 21st 2017, Dan was in an automobile accident, hit by a stolen car on 72nd and Bedford. He went to the hospital where he had surgery on 2 severely fractured vertebrae. To stabilize his neck, they inserted a metal plate secured by screws. He also had 2 or 3 fractured ribs along with problems in the vertebrae in his back. His car was totaled, he is out of work for a minimum of 8 weeks. Because the car was stolen, insurance coverage is doubtful, and Dan does not have health insurance.
