COACH DON NORFORD HONOR

Coach Don Norford, aka "Papadon", of Long Beach Poly have been recently selected by Poly and the Long Beach School District to have Poly's historical track named in his honor! Coach Norford was head track coach at Poly for over 30 years. His 19 California State Track and Field Championships are a record for any U.S. State. He has been inducted into SEVEN Track & Field Hall of Fames! He is the only high school coach in U.S. history to win both national Football AND Track & Field honors as coach of the year! Poly high is honoring him by placing his name on its Track, and placing a decorated plaque along with his famous "Pole", in a permanent position in it's stadium. Coach Don's late wife, Carol, who was extremely instrumental in his career will be honored along with him. The cost for this project however, must be assumed by Coach Don, not Poly or the School District. Coach Don does not have these funds. Please assist us in securing the funds needed to complete this historical project!
