Coach Chris Gomez was admitted to ICU and placed on a ventilator Monday March 8, 2021. He had been improving steadily as a result of being given the best care possible for the situation. His family, friends, colleagues, current and former students, and athletes have been keeping him lifted in prayer and thinking of him since learning of his illness.
Today (March 16, 2021), his wife was informed he would undergo emergency surgery. While his family remains in our prayers in this unexpected turn of events, we want to offer support in a tangible way to help with the unknown medical expenses and to support his family in this time.
Coach Gomez is a family man to the core. He loves his wife, Jessica, and his children, Ethan, Audrina, Demetri, Lucas, and his expected Baby Girl with all his heart. One reason Chris is special is that he builds the same family atmosphere with the teams he coaches and students he teaches.
Chris pours all of himself endlessly and tirelessly, often taking less so his family can have more. In this time of uncertainties, our prayers are worth so much, and support continues to mean a lot to the family. The Gomez family would never ask for the help on their own, but they allowed us to show our support and love in a meaningful and tangible way through this GoFundMe. The funds will be used to support the family in any way they see fit and to help with the unknown medical expenses.
