Service Dog Training Supplies

The FSDS Youth-based Training Program is a pioneering concept in Career and Technical Education.  Through a partnership agreement with Arizona Agribusiness and Equine Center (AAEC) high school district, we are able to offer local teens the opportunity to earn high school credits for participation in our training program.  Our current classes are held at their Estrella Mountain campus and on their Red Mountain and Paradise Valley Campus. Our new puppies starting this year will require leads, harnesses, booties, veterinary care, and a host of other needs. We are looking for donations to cover these expenses. Also your donations will go to provide financial assistance for economically disadvantaged school children so that they may participate in our program and give back to the community.

This comprehensive four semester program is taught by credentialed teachers, certified through the Arizona Department of Education. Students who successfully complete Orientation are granted service dogs-in-training, and for the duration of the program (24/7) they live, work and play with their assigned dogs, who are all rescued from a local shelter program.  Students are required to bring the dogs to school with them each day as a part of public access training. Woven throughout this program are leadership opportunities, whereby students attend FSDS sponsored functions to assist in providing education to the community on service dog and disability issues.

At the conclusion of the program a graduation ceremony is held, and at this time the students turn over their fully trained and certified dogs to local heroes in need of assistance.These dogs are provided at no out-of-pocket cost to these deserving community heroes, as a public service.
