I’m asking for help for a woman who is more than a friend to me. She is my sister. My best friend. If I do my job right, she will never see this and won’t know about it until it’s over. She’s a hard head, she’s beautiful, she’s loving, she’s a giver, she works hard, she’s a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend.
In July, her world was turned upside down. She was diagnosed with breast cancer. She’s 41 years old and went to her yearly appointments. One year ago, she did not have a spot anywhere. Since then, she has had 3 surgeries. She has insisted that we do not use the word ‘ cancer ‘. She wants ‘ no sympathy ‘. She doesn’t want to be called a ‘ fighter ‘. She doesn’t want to ‘ wear pink ‘. She rocked those surgeries like nobodies business. She didn’t miss work. She hasn’t missed a soccer practice or a cross country meet. Her doctors told her that she would need 6 weeks of radiation, 6 days a week. She didn’t bat an eye. She said ‘ I’m 1/2 a mile from the hospital. I will go on my lunch hour ‘.
Monday, she had a follow up appointment from her surgeries. The results from the tumors had come back. Chemo. 3 months of chemo. There was no way to avoid it. Her doctors informed her that with the type of chemo she is getting, she needs to ‘ take the next 3 months off of work ‘. ‘ Yeah right ‘. Her exact words.
She wants no help, no charity, and I am asking for help for a single mom of 3 who will have medical bills. She will have bills like the rest of us. I do not want her to do this alone. She insists that she does. I pray that you would not discuss this post but that you would simply pray for her. I love her. I can’t imagine life without her. I can not conceive her kids not having her and if we can make her life any easier, Why not ? I’m stepping out in faith. I’m ignoring my best friend. I’m going against her wishes. I’m asking for help and never thought I would.
To everyone that reads this post, her life has not been easy. Please pray. She needs a healing and for God’s sake, she needs a break.
Thank you ❤️
