Please help Jeni Longo save her four-legged best friend Dylan.
My long time friend and co-worker Jeni is the first person to help out in any situation. She is one of the most caring and humble people that I have ever met. She doesn’t make a lot of money but she gives everything to her job at the hospital. The thing that gets her through the long work days is knowing that she will be coming home to her beloved constant companion, Dylan.
Monday 3/21 is when Jeni’s worst fear started. Dylan started having labored breathing and he couldn’t move to even get off of the couch. He progressed to vomiting and having black tarry stool. Dylan was normally a healthy dog so Jeni got worried and brought him to the vet.
They ran lab tests, X-rays, and gave him medicine to try and help but he wasn’t getting better and the vet did not have answers yet. Jeni has spent the past three days taking Dylan back and forth to the vet.
Dylan is currently in the vet emergency room under observation in an oxygen chamber and he will stay overnight after his blood transfusion to ensure he is stable. They will run more tests and conduct an ultrasound tomorrow morning 3/24.
The vet thinks that Dylan might have Thrombocytopenia, an autoimmune disease, or cancer. Jeni is anxiously waiting to hear what the prognosis is. If he does not improve or he has cancer then she will have to euthanize him. What a horrible decision to have to make but she doesn’t want him to be in pain and she wants him to have a good quality of life. She also could not live with herself if she didn’t do everything possible to save him.
We all know how expensive vet visits are and especially this type of emergency high level care. Jeni has spent over $5,000 in the past three days trying to save her best friend. Jeni would never dare asking for sympathy or hand outs so I’m going to ask on her behalf.
One can feel helpless in this type situation but there is a way that we can help.
Please help raise money to pay for sweet Dylan’s medical expenses. Even if only a couple dollars for Dylan would help.
Dogs are like family and in some cases they are like our children and because of this, we would do anything to save them or take their pain away.
