GCLA Responds: Hurricane Eta, Honduras
Hurricane Eta has left devastating and heartbreaking destruction on the northern region of Honduras.
On Nov. 5th, hundreds of thousands of men, women, children, babies, elderly were forced to leave their homes as a result of fierce and merciless floodings.
Brave men and women have been working tirelessly risking their lives to rescue people and get them to safety.
We are thankful that very few lives have been lost. Nevertheless, hundreds of church members and their families have either lost everything or don’t have access to clean water, food and medicine.
We are taking immediate action and want to ask for your support.
We are on the ground with a dedicated and committed team of volunteers to provide our displaced church members, their families and their neighbors with the following:
- Clean water
- Food
- Clothing
- Shelter
- Mattresses and blankets
- Medicines
- Basic hygiene products
Once they're able to return to their homes, we will also be assisting them in cleaning and reconstruction.
As this catastrophic devastation is unfolding, we are taking action.
We need your immediate support.

El huracán Eta ha dejado una destrucción devastadora y desgarradora en la región norte de Honduras.
El 5 de noviembre, cientos de miles de hombres, mujeres, niños, bebés y ancianos se vieron obligados a abandonar sus hogares como resultado de las terribles y despiadadas inundaciones.
Hombres y mujeres valientes han estado trabajando incansablemente arriesgando sus vidas para rescatar personas y ponerlas a salvo.
Estamos agradecidos de que se hayan perdido muy pocas vidas. Sin embargo, cientos de miembros de la iglesia y sus familias lo han perdido todo o no tienen acceso a agua potable, alimentos y medicinas.
Estamos tomando medidas inmediatas y queremos pedir su apoyo.
Estamos en los lugares afectados con un equipo dedicado y comprometido de voluntarios para brindar a los desplazados, sus familias y sus vecinos lo siguiente:
- Agua potable
- Comida
- Ropa
- Abrigo
- Colchones y mantas
- Medicamentos
- Productos básicos de higiene
Una vez que puedan regresar a sus hogares, también los ayudaremos en las tareas de limpieza y reconstrucción.
A medida que se desarrolla esta devastación catastrófica, estamos tomando medidas.
