I'm running the Forest of Dean half marathon on 23rd March to raise funds for my friend Emma Stone so she can access medical treatment in Germany or the USA for a rare and otherwise untreatable form of cancer. There is no treatment available in the UK. All monies received will go directly to Emma for her on-going treatment plan, care, travel and anything related to her condition. Here's Emma's story in her own words - thanks for your support to help her have more time with her young boys. Hi my name is Emma Stone and just before I turned 50 I discovered I have an extremely rare form of cancer called an Atypical Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. After having major surgery to remove a large tumor in my chest I was given a good prognosis. However, in November 2024 it was discovered that it has spread to my bones, hips, back and ribs.

Local Doctors have said there is currently no treatment available in the UK to cure this and there is very little research and few experts globally in this field.

I am seeking specialist expert opinion and treatment from the world leading centre for NET cancer based in Houston Texas who have had good success in this field. My hope is for a positive outcome and to be included in some clinical trials.

I have two young children who are 7 and 11 years old and my goal is to prolong my life to spend as much time as possible with my two boys.

I am trying to raise funds to enable me to visit the clinic in the US to establish if I could qualify for any Clinical Trials which could extend my life.
