Merlin's Unexpected Emergency
Hello Friends and Family,
Today (Dec 4, 2015), I took my lifelong friend, Merlin, to the emergency vet after determining he wasn't able to pee at all, was vomiting, and was in extreme pain. After I explained his symptoms, the emergency room vets rushed us through past hours of people waiting, and took Merlin for an emergency exam. It turns out that my sweet baby had a urinary blockage which could have been fatal at any moment, and needed urgent, complex , and expensive care, including surgery. I was presented with the options of paying a $3,000+ bill, or putting him down... I believe I owe it to my sweet baby to give him the care and surgery he needs, so, although I don't currently have that amount of money, I authorized treatment. At this moment, Merlin is in the hospital until Sunday or Monday.
Unfortunately, urinary blockages are common in male cats because of their anatomy, and may recur if the proper steps - a special diet, check-ups, etc.- aren't taken. As a full-time student, I need any support I can get to find the money for the emergency surgery and to support his new special diet, without accruing 2-3 years of interest with a credit company paying this bill over extended time.
This is where I need you- Merlin and I will be so grateful for any amount you can contribute to help with his emergency surgery and current hospitalization, and to help him live a fulfilling and painless future life. If you can't contribute, please help by sharing this around to your loved ones and those you know who understand what it is to care for a loving creature and be its only support.
