Hope for Kathryn

Donation protected
I have been asking for prayers for my daughter Kathryn off and on during the past few years, but never exactly said what for. Some friends have messaged my privately to ask wht is going on, and many friends have just offered to pray without any explanation.

As many of you know, my husband died when Kate was 6 years old. It was traumatic for her and she was not able to deal with the trauma, so she hid her feelings. This became her habit...all through middle and high school.  She struggled with depression, but was good at hiding that too. Over a long chain of events, she became involved in supressing all of this with drugs. Recently Kate went to a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility seeking help with, of ALL things, a heroine addiction. This bad boy is a tough one to kick, but it is possible. Kate is committing herself to a life of sobriety and is working to manage this disease. She is concurrently working with a therapist for the underlying emotional issues.  She is a warrior and has been through hell with all of this. She wants to be as she said, "happy Kate" again.

I have been blessed with very good health insurance that paid for her time in rehab.  There is a medication that is available to help manage cravings and allow time for the brain and body to repair itself. It is called suboxone. There are few doctors that have a licence to prescribe it, and those doctors can only have a specific case load.  This therapy usually lasts 1-2 years and has shown to be much more successful  than participating in only a 12 step program without the medication.

IF Kate were receiving medical assistance, the medication and doctor visits would be covered 100%...many doctors will not accept other insurance plans; of course the ones who accept insurance other than welfare are at their max with a waiting list. The initial visit is $360.00 and each visit after is $60.00. Kate cannot afford this, and to be honest neither can we as we are paying a mortgage in childcare for Kate's baby which we are raising).  We need to raise at least the initial $360.00 by Dec 8th...which is quickly approaching. I will be handling all of the funds for her as she does not know I am making this appeal on her behalf. I will be using any additional funds for subsequent treatments and outpatient co-pays.

Kate needs this medication. I cannot begin to describe the journey we have been on for the past 3 years...it has been torture for the whole family...we are all ready to move on to a better chapter with your help.

Thank you for helping me to get my little girl back. This evil monster has taken her and we all want her back for good!
