Dear all,

I never thought we'd get to where we are today, but last week Cody celebrated 6 months post diagnosis, when he was given 1 - 3 months on average. He has so far beaten the odds and remains in good condition and spirits. He is definitely slowing down, and we've been adjusting our travelling pace accordingly.

As most of you know, his hollistic medication is a heft monthly bill, and the first 3 months were so kindly covered by you all with my first fundraiser. I have just about managed the 2 months that came after on my own, but this last month i am falling short and going forward I need your help.

Now that we've made it to 6 months in September, I am going to optimistically aim for the 8th of November, which would be his 9th birthday ❤️

I've listed the original fundraiser story below for the cost breakdown, and for those that are new to our journey.

My name is Ingrid Houwers, and anyone that knows me knows that I am never without my constant companion, Cody AKA the dapper doggo

We have been all over, first in our microcamper and now in our self converted Renault Trafic camper, making the most of loving life together.

On the 18th of March Cody was sadly diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma . It was discovered by chance during a routine check, having shown no signs of the illness at all. A week later, during his scheduled splenectomy it was discovered that the cancer had already spread, to the liver, and that he was anemic, so surgery was aborted and he was closed up. His prognosis is 1 to 3 months.

To go from having a lovely, happy companion, that has been my rock through a horrendous year, with seemingly nothing wrong, to the news that we our now in our final chapter has been devastating.

Sadly, my own life has been rather complicated, and funds are beyond tight...

There are holistic supplements that are proven to help with Hemangiosarcoma. Make no mistake, this disease will take him, but if I have a chance of prolonging his life with me, and in good comfort, I will try my very best to make it happen. The important thing is that he is still enjoying life and without pain.

The supplements are:

Yunnan Baiyoa
Turkey tail, mycelium extract
Milk thistle
Bone broth

The yunnan baiyoa is £74.99 for 10 boxes, which is 160 capsules. Cody weighs 55kg and needs 6 a day, meaning 10 boxes last us 26 days.

The Turkey Tail extract is £75.96(incl. shipping) for a pot of 180 capsules. With his weight Cody would need 14 capsules a day, meaning 1 pot only lasts us approximately 12 days...

Milk thistle from pet wellbeing is £65 for 118ml, he takes 4,5ml a day, so a bottle lasts 26 days.

Bone broth is given through his food and we grab it at the local petstore, it's currently just over £2 for 200ml. He goes through 3-4 sachets weekly, so around £64 monthly.

Roughly this all works out at £280 per month. If going with his initial prognosis of 1-3 months, that would mean £840 for 3 months.

I am really hoping he'll beat the odds, if his behaviour and demeanor is anything to go by you still would never know he is ill, but I am realistic.

If I raise the goal it will obviously help Cody get his needed supplements for the coming 3 months. I will take however long he wants to stay with me, as long as he is comfortable.

Any supplements that are left over I will donate, free of charge, to someone going through this same hell that may also be in financial difficulties through the FB group "Canine Hemangiosarcoma ", a group which has been a massive comfort and endless source of information.

If there are any funds left over when he passes, they will be shared between the Tyrone Husky Rescue and myself, as i am still in the process of getting back on my feet with my workshop studio.

All gofund.me donations are declared on my income tax.
