Saving Peter

Meet Peter. A sweet, happy puppy facing a very big challenge. Peter's momma, Princess, had been living in a ditch before she was rescued. Fortunately, she was saved before she had 10 (TEN!) babies.

This was especially lucky for Peter who was born with his umbilical cord wrapped tightly around his waist. As a result, Peter had almost no control of his back legs when he was born. Even though his back legs didn't work, he was alert and affectionate. He ate and drank (and had control of his bodily functions), so we were cautiously optimistic. After local veterinary consults, Peter was off to see the wonderful vets (and students) at Texas A&M.

The great news is Peter should be perfectly fine with early surgical intervention. He has an amazing foster who is doing physical therapy and getting him ready. At the end of this month, Peter will be re-evaluated and, hopefully, we'll get the go-ahead for his surgery.

With your help, Peter can grow in to a big, strong dog who can run, play and live his very best life. Would you be able to assist us with the cost of this surgery? Every dollar helps give Peter the best life possible!
