A Fathers Choice

Hello everyone! My name is Shirley de Vrede and I am a passionate filmmaker with a dream: to create film that not only entertains but also inspires. My project, titled "A Father's Choice" is a story that it's very close to my heart.

What's the story about?

The widower, named Jack Taylor 39 years old, is a devoted father and a succesful professional. He has always worked hard to provide his daughter Olivia, with a good life, especially after the loss of his wife. Jack is ambitious and on the verge of receiving and important promotion, something he has been striving for over the years.

However, Olivia has recently been dealing with mental issues and Jack feels the pressure to be there for her. He struggles with the choice beween persuing his career, which would provide financial stabiltiy, and supporting his daugther this difficult time. Jack is caring en loving person, but the stress of his responsibilties makes it challenging for him to decide what is best for both his future and Olivia’s.

Olivia is a 16-year old girl who falls into an emotional spiral after the death of her mother. She often feels alone and lost, and sadness is intensified by the lack of attention from her father, who is completely focused on his career. Olivia longs for his love and approval, but his absence leaves her with a deep sense of abandonment. She struggles with her emotions, leading to feelings of anxiety and insecurity. Despite her pain, she has a strong desire to reconnect with her father and find the love she desperately needs.

Why is this project so important to me? Because I believe in the power of stories. they can connect us, make us think, and help us better understand the world. around us. With this short movie, I want to make an impact and encourage people to reflect on love, understanding and respect.

I believe it carries an important message that we need to share with the world.
