The Cypress Music Scene was born from what started out as an offer for me (Joyce Skala) to act as a freelance writer - become the Cypress Music Contributor, and author a simple calendar of events for Peel Media to be published in the Fairfield Gazette - a local publication. My very first article (ever) was published in May of 2021; it’s called Joyce Behind the Mic (#joycebehindthemic)!

My Next Step: To increase awareness, I immediately created the group @cypressmusicscene (on Facebook) to better serve the music fans who were previously uninformed of local live music events and happenings and to shine light on what was a very rough year for venues and musicians who are now trying to recover from the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown/shutdowns.

Since May 2021 (in just 7 mos.), over 2.8k+ locals have eagerly become part of the Cypress Music Scene #musiccommunity and socially support the growing CMS brand! Because of that, CMS has gotten off to a great start and hopefully, with the help of your much needed financial support, we can broaden our support in the Cypress, TX Community!

Organically (without financial support/assistance), during the first 7 mos.:

CMS has developed a network of over 175 musicians and artists who we advocate for on a daily basis (over 1k events since April 2021)
CMS books local events for artists upon request.
Local Venues use CMS as a resource for event booking.
CMS does print ads and graphics for select Artist and Venues.
CMS schedules, plans, hosts and MC's Spotlight Artist showcases every month.

Joyce Skala (CMS Founder) has edited and published a formal weekend lineup for the last 36 weeks straight and authored a magazine publication for the last 7 consecutive months.
Hurry Sundown & JBTM (Joyce Behind the Mic) earned their way onto 2 magazine covers in 1 year
CMS has become a local brand and voted best resource for all things live music
And it’s all just the beginning….

This revival happened out of a love and respect for music. And a deeper love and respect for those who bring it to life. It was an unforseen birth. To date, Joyce has earned no income from CMS but now she would like your help! Please consider donating to Cypress Music Scene so we can continue to serve our community and do even MORE!

CMS would like to sell our Merchandise to help raise money for our cause, but first - we have to raise money to have the shirts printed!
