OUR FUNDRAISING TARGET
A standard term at Sharpe Academy costs in the region of £110,000. Whilst we are able to bring costs down while venues are closed, we do still have liabilities and obligations. Many of our team are self-employed with no other income available to them. Our aim is to be able to continue paying them to teach via Sharpe Online. We must also ensure that Sharpe retains its strong foundations so we can emerge from this difficult period with our company stronger than ever.
A Message from Daniel Sharpe
As a company we are proud to be a centre of excellence in the performing arts. We have decided to continue this and take SHARPE ONLINE to offer daily classes in as many performance subjects as we can. We want to help our team, our clients, our students and we welcome anyone else in the world who wishes to join us. We will offer these classes through Instagram, Facebook, Zoom and other platforms.
We could charge a small fee per class for people to take part, but with so many of our industry – and our students' families – out of work, they wouldn't be able to afford to participate and we don't want to exclude anyone based on personal finances.
Sharpe is entirely self-funded so during this period of social distancing, while schools and venues are closed, we have no funds coming in. We do however have the time, expertise and dedication to run this venture.
Many people still have their wages and savings to get them through this time. Our hope is that those who can make a contribution will do so. Whether you can afford to pay £5, $25, €17 or your standard termly fee payments for the summer term, any amount would be greatly appreciated and will help to keep our online classes available for everyone. We will continue to run these classes for as long as our internet connections will allow, but we must continue to pay our teachers as they have no other source of income at the present time.
The cost of our classes is usually:
Musical Theatre Class – £20.00–£30.00 for 2-3 hours
Dance Class – £4.00–£7.50 for 45 minutes
We wish everyone good health and all the best in this difficult time.
