Update: April 15, 2022
During Ché’s 6th course of treatment, the doctors found a lesion on her head. On April 4th she had surgery to remove the lesion. during her recovery she developed fever so after two nights in the ER she was admitted for a couple of days. This Wednesday she will have to undergo surgery again all in preparation of the upcoming bone marrow transplant. Please say a prayer, share this link, and donate blood; platelets; and become a donor for bone marrow.
Update 2/7/2022: My leukemia (cancer)is back unfortunately.
Update: Che is now on her last inpatient IV chemotherapy treatment. I did not update during 4th because there was a lot going on. In the midst of her blood counts recovering, she had to have an emergency appendectomy. To most people an appendectomy is a low risk routine surgery, for her it was life threatening. She did not have any white blood cells to assist in the healing process. She also started having seizures thought to be from the mental trauma she is fighting through. She spent 81 days, twice the amount of time, in the hospital during her 4th course because of complications. As the holidays approach, I just want to share why I am thankful Why I am thankful:
Update: Che is now on her 3rd course of 5 treatments. Each one is harder and harder. Although we received great news that her cancer is in remission, she still has a long way to go. Thank you to everyone that has donated, please continue to share as she has a long way to go.
Update: The outpour of support, love, and prayers are felt. Thank you for helping us reach our initial goal!
This page is to help with offsetting cost for the care of my 16 year old daughter who was diagnosed with AML Leukemia on February 8, 2021. If you are a fan of basketball in Baltimore, you probably know her as the curly head photographer capturing moments with her camera. Below is her story in her own words! And and all donations and prayers are needed and welcomed!
My Story: I have been sick for the past couple of months. I couldn’t keep my food down and I started throwing up this yellow stuff. I thought it was food poisoning but my mom told me food poisoning don’t go across all the foods you eat(if yk me yk i’m slow a lil bit) So then I was still throwing up this yellow stuff every morning but i was still functioning i would throw up and keep it moving. I started to lose weight bc I was throwing up so my mom took me to my pediatrician and he took my blood, height, weight regular check up stuff and prescribed stomach medicine. He then called me and my mom back in because my blood counts were abnormally low. He sent me to the children’s hospital where they did a smear on my blood and found that my cells were abnormal and I was told it was potentially leukemia on February 8th. They took me upstairs and immediately my anxiety kicked in all the nurses ,MRI , eye exams , vital and blood checks (same day ) was very overwhelming news and everything was happening quickly. February 9th I got my bone marrow tested and tested Positive for Leukemia. February10th they told I had AML Leukemia. That Friday I started chemo therapy. I’ll be in the hospital for at least the next 6 months. Due to the chemo my hair started to fall out. If yk me I like to do stuff on my own timeSo I cut my hair even though the little pieces of hair are falling out and i’m slowly becoming bald head I made something uncontrollable controllable for me. This is only the beginning. This page is to track progress and share my story to spread awareness because cancer can be scary it’s affected people I love , took people I love away from me , and now is affecting me. My faith has kept me strong and I will get through this

Update 2/7/2022: My leukemia (cancer)is back unfortunately.
I will have to go down to duke (North Carolina) to get my bone marrow transplant and additional chemo therapy . This process has been a pain in my ass and I’m just ready for everything to be over. I’ve been trying to keep my head high because ik God has been with me every step and God will continue to do so but mentally I’ve just been having a rough time. It’s like you would think I’d feel better bc I know what I’m walking into but it’s actually worse because ik the pain I’m about to feel. My diagnosis day was February 8th of 2021. Tomorrow is February 8th of 2022 it will be officially a year of me fighting the #8 deadliest cancer in the world. We are just waiting to see how long I’ll have to be at duke but we are preparing for at least another 6-9 months. But I can’t help but to think because I was admitted the same day with no perpetration last year that God is giving me a second chance to see my loved ones as we prepare to go into battle again. God saved me once and I believe I’ll be saved again. But this is my life not a sprained ankle and is a very hard situation. We all thought it was over when I left the hospital especially because I had been in Remission for so long. At this time my loved ones and I are preparing to get more intense treatment and processing the news. We are calling on all prayer warriors and we are grateful for every gofundme donation, check in , prayer , good energy and words of encouragement . Thanks for following my journey and supporting me.
In the simplest words “Instead of me sitting in my daughter’s hospital room during the thanksgiving celebrations, I could be in a constant state of depression missing her presence here on earth.”
Since my daughter’s birth I have learned how to be patient, how to listen, how to communicate, and how to love unconditionally. She saved me from myself and self destructive thoughts and behaviors. I have the utmost respect for the strength she has displayed since her diagnosis on February 8th of this year. Through her fear, questions, trust in me, and decisions about her care she has shown me that resilience is real. There are so many mother’s that are missing their children this year. The reality that I could have been one is sobering to me. I am thankful that she has chosen to fight for her life.
I am thankful for all of her supporters, family, friends, and all of the wonderful people we have meet along the way. I am thankful for her, her two friends her age, and our favorite toddler being in remission. I am thankful to be in her hospital room and not in a psych ward.
I pray for those that have lost loved ones this past year and years before. As you all bow your heads to bless your food tomorrow, remember that this holiday is different for a lot of people for so many reasons.
May you all be blessed and find comfort with your family, friends, and angels!
