On August 9th, my dad, my 14-year-old little brother, and my stepmom were out driving a UTV (side-by-side) on a dirt road when they crossed an intersection. A Chevy Silverado hit my dad’s side instantly, killing him on impact.

My little brother and stepmom were both airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. My brother suffered a skull fracture, a broken arm (requiring surgery), and damage to his sinuses that also required surgery.

My stepmom’s injuries are even more severe: a broken leg, a broken arm, multiple broken ribs, a broken neck, a bleeding spleen, and she has suffered a stroke. She had to be airlifted again to another hospital for emergency treatment, where doctors placed a stent and put her on a ventilator.

We are devastated. My dad is gone, my little brother is in recovery from major surgeries, and my stepmom is fighting for her life. The UTV was completely destroyed, and my dad did not have insurance coverage for it. The medical bills, airlifts, funeral costs, and other expenses are overwhelming.
