My name is Jessica Dukes. I am currently a student at Georgia State University, where I'm majoring in Sociology. The Sociology Department is sponsoring a study abroad to China in May of 2016. I am very excited to announce that I have been invited to participate. The program is focusing on global aging and social policies in China and the United States. We will learn and compare the differences about work and retirement, pensions and social insurance, social services and long term care in both China and the U.S. At the end of the week, we will participate in an international conference on social policy and aging in higher education held annually at Renmin University. During our stay we will have a cultural site visit each day, such as the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, etc. I would love to learn and experience different cultures first hand and feel this would be a great beginning. The program cost will cover flight, meals and lodging. Although I am very pleased with the invitation that has been extended to me, as a full time college student with very limited income, unfortunately at this time I may have to decline. I am humbly asking for your assistance in making this trip happen. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated!
