Support for Daniel and his family

Hi Everyone,
As you may be aware, Daniel has had a challenging end to 2019, with the loss of his brother Philip in early December and shortly after losing his tiny house, which he has worked on tirelessly for the last 3 years, to the devastating NSW bush fires (the house was in Buxton, which was hit by the Green Wattle Creek fire on the 19th of December).
The construction of Daniel’s tiny house brought a new meaning to the saying blood, sweat and tears. As a team, we watched him pour everything into it (including 2 years of leave). He designed and built the entire house with his brother and Linda’s brother, including the trailers; the only trade help they got was for the gas plumbing. With their home-away-from-home only a couple of weeks from completion, it is truly heartbreaking to see them lose not only the all their hard work, but also all of Daniel’s tools, including those from his late father.
In keeping with his job and beliefs, the house was designed to be as sustainable as possible, with double glazed windows, air tight construction, extensive insulation, passive solar principals, and built using low formaldehyde & FSC certified timber and low VOC paints and adhesives.
Unfortunately Daniel and Linda could not insure the tiny house as it was still under construction, therefore they have lost everything that they put into this dream of theirs. A lot of us want to help but don’t know what to do, so I’ve made this GoFundMe for Daniel and Linda to show just how much we care, to provide support for them get back on their feet, and maybe one day rebuild their dream.
While Daniel is aware that I have created this GoFundMe page, this was entirely my initiative. The thought of asking for money never crossed his mind, which is a testament to his character. I know Daniel, Linda and Emilia will benefit enormously from any financial support we can provide and they are already so grateful and humbled by everyone’s kind words and support to date.
