Hello everyone!
The communities of South Texas face higher disease incidences and mortality rates compared with the rest of our state and country. Most of these medical conditions are preventable with proper education and access to healthcare. Unfortunately, there is a significant shortage of medical professionals to address these needs.
The Christian Medical Association (CMA) at the UNT Health Science Center is acutely aware of the health disparities affecting these communities. In response, CMA organizes a medical mission trip during Spring Break week every year. Medical professionals and students from all branches of healthcare join forces to come alongside those with physical, mental, and spiritual needs.
CMA UNTHSC is happy to announce a medical mission trip to Mission, TX for Spring Break 2022. The areas we are serving include 150 families in Penitas, 600 families in Alton, and 300 families in Edinburg. CMA volunteers will provide free medical care and health education to the residents of these communities.
This is an opportunity to volunteer and help those with inadequate access to healthcare. Due to the pandemic, many in the community have lost their jobs and are struggling. We are blessed that God has called all of us to serve the needs of others.
This trip is 100% volunteer-funded and operated. Our goal is to raise $5,000. All the funds will go towards this medical mission trip, including travel, lodging, and medical supplies. By donating, you are helping to make someone’s life and health better.
Any amount helps! Thank you for taking the time to read this and please keep us and our future patients in your prayers.
Sincerely,
Christian Medical Association-UNTHSC
