CMA Fight For Jayden

At Championship Martial Arts, we believe that when one student falls, there are hundreds of hands to help pick them back up. 4 years ago, a bright young man named Chase Miller walked through our doors to begin his martial arts journey. Over the years, we have built an excellent relationship with Chase and the rest of the Miller family (Matt, Melissa, and their 2nd son Troy).

On March 21, 2022 Matt and Melissa were overjoyed by the birth of their 3rd son Jayden Miller. At 3 weeks old, while at karate class, they noticed he was having seizures classified as infantile spasms. He has spent over a month inpatient at Scottish Rite in his 4 months being alive.

Although they have found many things resulting in his issues, there is still no true diagnosis. He has polymicrogyria, a combination of too many folds in his brain that is also not as deep as normal brain development. He also has epilepsy and infantile spasms controlled by medications that cost over $10000 per month. And the first steroid was 90k. He currently has his gtube that was placed last month, which is his only means of nutrition until the pulmonologist clears him hopefully next month, and he is on oxygen 24/7 because his brain forgets to tell him to breathe.

They are waitlisted on many of CHOA’s multidisciplinary clinics and are also trying to plan a trip to Columbus, Ohio for second opinions and possibly other experimental procedures (which will be financially out of pocket) to improve his quality of life.
