Danielle Leombruno Douglas

Hi, my name is Dave, I am Danielle’s husband. Danielle is a mother, daughter, sister, wife, Nana and dear friend to many people. Sixteen days ago she was rushed to Columbia Memorial Hospital with excruciating abdominal pain. They initially performed emergency surgery to repair a blockage and torn intestine. She then became septic and they needed to perform two additional surgeries, at which point they gave us a very poor prognosis. We sought out a second opinion and her case was accepted by a specialist in Albany Medical Center, so after paying $1800 to transfer her, we got her to Albany Medical Center. Since her arrival there they have performed another four surgeries to date and anticipate having to perform at least three more. She has been on a ventilator and sedated throughout this entire ordeal. They predict that she will be hospitalized for another three weeks and then be moved to a rehabilitation facility for a couple months. Although we are fortunate enough to have insurance, there are so many things that aren’t covered, transportation, meals, parking, fuel. I ask that everyone keep Danielle in your thoughts and prayers and with God’s grace she will get through this horrific ordeal.
