Please help Squirrel!
Hi, my name is Ainsley, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a desperate plea.
My sweet girl, Squirrel, one of my best friends and constant companions, has developed a severe esophageal stricture — a condition that makes it nearly impossible for her to eat. Right now, I’m syringe feeding her tiny amounts of liquefied food (5–8 cc’s at a time) every 15–30 minutes, day and night, just to keep her going. It’s heartbreaking and exhausting, but I won’t give up on her.
She has been approved for an urgent surgery consult at Texas A&M scheduled for Monday at 7:30 a.m. This is our only real option — without treatment, her condition is not sustainable and I am not willing to give up on her.
What I Need
The cost of the surgery and care is estimated to be between $7,000-$8,000 if the surgery does not have any complications. And that doesn’t include take-home medications. I’ve already spent everything I have trying to help her as she’s been in and out of vet offices for the past 3 weeks. My savings are gone, and I’ve sold what I could. I never thought I’d be in a position to ask for help like this, but I truly have no other option right now.
If you’ve ever loved an animal like family, you know they’re not “just a pet” — they’re home. They’re safe. She’s not even 2 years old and I adopted her after Tetra’s passing and my heart is broken for her. She’s full of life and happiness and I cannot fathom putting her down.
How You Can Help
If you’re able to donate — even $5 — it would mean the world to us. Every cent raised will go directly to her veterinary bills, surgery, and post-op care.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page. Spreading the word could save her life.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping me fight for her.
With love,
Ainsley + Squirrel
