The Way Family

Hello, my name is Jodey way and I am creating a go fund me for my family. My mother, Jaime and my little sister Jorja, were in a terrible car accident in the early morning of Saturday, March 22nd 2025. Making this go fund me is really hard for me and our family as we are all stubborn and want to be able to do it on our own, but in this situation I don’t think that is the case.

Early morning Saturday march 22nd around 1am we suspect my mother’s car had failed mechanically, we are not sure if the specifics yet as investigations are going on. They flipped the car over and ended up pinned against a tree sunroof first. My sister jesslyn came upon the scene of the accident around 8am. On Saturday morning. Mom and jorja were still conscious. But barely. Emergency vehicles arrive and highway rescue had to cut the roof of the car and lower it to the ground taking them 5 hours to get my mom and sister extracted from the vehicle. Jorja was extracted, surrounded by paramedics and airlifted to prince george hospital. There was no other emergency helicopter available my mother Jaime was taken by ambulance, assessed at the GR Baker Hospital in quesnel because being airlifted to prince george as well.

we are still learning the extent of both of their injuries, but we have learned so far that..

Jorja has broken both of her femurs, her right fibula and tibia, displaced her knee cap and tore her muscle from her patella (kneecap). She broke three spots in her spine C2 and C7. (Top and bottom of her neck, and TH5 (mid back). She also broke two spots in her jaw (both sides). She has minor bleeding around her heart and major bruising on her lungs. (Suspected from the seat belt). She also has lacerations on her scalp and lower lip/chin. She is in a medically induced coma until further notice.

My mother Jaime, broke one of her femur, fractured her pelvis, broke 6 ribs, (from the centre console) detached all the muscle in her left arm, she also had major internal bruising. And some intestinal damage. But she awoke after surgery on a ventilator.

As of right now, they are both stable.

There was also a dog in the car that was ejected but got back in to comfort my mom and jorja until help arrived. He seems to have broken ribs, a damaged eye and a big laceration on his skull. He will be further assessed tomorrow, when all vet staff are able to help.

The rest of our family, is staying in Prince George now, awaiting any news on my mother and sister. Taking time off work and being there to support them, takes a major toll on all of us. This is going to be a long road to recovery and Any help is greatly appreciated, in this tragic time.
