As many may know, Tealia has been diagnosed with a very aggressive stage 3 colon cancer. As we all know, there are medical expenses, travels and much more to get where her and Gary need to be.
My heart and I know many more hearts are devastated about the news. I have known Tealia for a long time, but have grown a really close relationship when her and Gary met. There is nothing Tealia or Gary wouldn't do to help someone. They have been there for the community keeping up keep on ball field, volleyball and trying to keep the sports alive in our small community plus much more!
Now, it is our turn to help them! It is hard time of the year with the holiday season, but I know we can pull through to help! Neither one of them know I decided to do this, but I couldn't help it. I know with Tealia out, police don't get paid the best and with Mags and extra expenses, they need help. Anything will help!
Say extra prayers during this holiday season, our friends need them
Here is what Tealia had sent me just a little information about what is going on..
So, I was told by the oncologist that I have advanced colon cancer stage 3. Have to have an MRI done Saturday of my rectum to see if the tumor is penetrating the rectal wall and that will determine the treatment. The tumor is too big to operate on at this point and would just cause my issues. If the tumor is not going thru the wall then i'll have to start chemo by pill twice a day and radiation Monday thru Friday for 5 weeks then off for two to four weeks and rescan. If the tumor has shrank like they want then i'll have surgery to remove it then 5 more months of chemotherapy. But if the tumor is penetrating the rectal wall then it's a more intense treatment. I'll have to get high dose radiation for a week then off two weeks then IV chemotherapy for the 5 weeks thru a port and in a pump. Then rescan and then surgery then more chemotherapy. I have an appt with the dr doing radiation on dec 2nd and the surgeon dec 8th. Its alot to process I know.
