Clyde Not Being Stranded for 4th Winter
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Clyde.
I have served in the USMC infantry reserves, have been a collegiate English structure, and have worked my entire life, starting at 14, until Covid.
During Covid, I was a laid off 34 year old bus boy living in a hut after having been fired from a community college English instructor position for involvement with marijuana.
For ten years, I have survived in the mountains, and I have often been homeless in the cold throughout all that. But… I have survived.
During Covid, a U.S. senator’s grand daughter, multimillionaire, and government lawyer (one person) convinced my laid-off-bus-boy-living-in-yurt ass to sign on a mortgage by myself. Background checks revealed she had done this to three other men without having told me.
Because I haven’t had a functional vehicle since Covid, the Eagle County Veterans Affairs Office stepped in to help me. But the mechanic the truck was taken to did nothing for 8 months and repaired one component out of half a dozen ones essential for safe driving.
I am sober, not drawing disability, and ready to work. But I need a vehicle, otherwise I am staring down the barrel of four months of winter and am worried that I might be successful in hurting myself.
I have never asked for money online. And hopefully never will again. But… I need a proper vehicle to make it back and forth from here, in the backcountry, to Vail. For work.
thank you so very much for your consideration. Anything else. The quicker I can get back to work, the quicker I can start helping others. Again. Thank you.
