Hi I’m Clyde’s Mama and we could use a little help. Clyde came to me by way of a rescue for feral kitties, bonded to his sister Bonnie. We loved Bonnie and she loved her Clyde and even though he had a rougher start than most and wasn’t supposed to survive I took him in as my bonus kitty and decided I was going to love him as long as he had.
Fast forward 3 years, after a few speed bumps that have gotten less scary over the years. Clyde is the protector of Bonnie and my 2 other cats. Whenever anyone wrestles he’s right there making sure everyone plays fair and of my 4 he is mama’s snuggle buddy, sleeping with me every night and following me around the house when we’re awake.
Recently his litter box trips got a bit long and and more painful. After what was promised to be a quick catheterization to remove a mucous plug on 10/3/2022 turned into a 3 day stay at our vet we’ve found things are nowhere near that simple.
Although there is only one stone on X-ray, his bladder wall is thick and rigid and we need an ultrasound to see if it’s a case of stones lodged in his bladder wall or if it’s some form of cancer. According to our vet Clyde is putting out more blood in his urine than other animals she’s seen full of bladder stones and she will not even risk a cystoscopy to remove the one stone before getting a better picture of what is really going on.
Financially the $600 ultrasound and $2500 cystoscopy are out of reach. COVID put a damper on employment opportunities and I’ve had to settle for making far less than what I was before; but if it’s not cancer and this procedure will improve the quality of his life than I feel it’s my place to at least ask for any help that might be available to get Clyde what he needs in order to remain my sweet and happy boy.
Thanks for reading ❤️
