Clumber Park Cricket Club Fundraiser

Hello. My name is Mark Dean and I'm the captain of Clumber Park Cricket Club. Clumber Park CC play in the beautiful setting of the National Trust parkland of the same name, and if ever you've visited the park at a weekend, maybe you've already seen us playing. We have a lovely club - from our picturesque setting and iconic thatched pavillion, through to our thriving junior and women and girls sections. We have 3 adult teams playing across North Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire in the Bassetlaw and District League, and a Sunday XI playing in the Mansfield League.

In a nail biting finale to the 2023 season, our 1st XI were lucky enough to win the Division 1 league title, narrowly securing the trophy by just 3 points on the last game of the season. This is the club's highest ever achievement and a massive thrill for all of us, particularly the older players like myself who may not have too many years left playing! Promotion to The Championship division for 2024 comes with it's challenges though. Despite our idyllic location, as a club we are not financially blessed. Whereas most other clubs have a bar or function room to generate income to raise club funds, our unique setting upon National Trust property understandably prevents us from having such options open to us, thus leaving us with extremely few avenues by which we can generate income to reinvest in club facilities.

Hence this plea to one and all to help me raise funds for Clumber Park CC. As a club our hope is to be able to keep moving forward - invest in more coaching for our junior players; purchase new training equipment for our boys, girls, women and men to utilise, such as a new bowling machine and netting for our practice area; invest in new machinery for our fantastic volunteer grounds staff to help us keep improving the quality of the outfield and playing square; and to also invest in a professional player/coach to help our 1st XI be competitive in The Championship division.

I'm getting the fund raising started by personally donating £100. If you've taken time to read this and would like to be part of our journey, then every single penny donated will be so gratefully received and appreciated, and will be put towards keeping cricket thriving in Clumber Park.
