Hello Family and Friends,

I am Elliott Walker, Director of Club Wood Volleyball, educator, and mentor of youth.

Educating, Minds, Molding Champions, and Developing Model Citizens is the mission statement of Club Wood Volleyball. The aim of this program, is to enhance education and development through volleyball. Members of this program live and attend schools in the inner city and surrounding communities. The program, established by Elliott Walker, Ed.D. Each year, teenagers in the inner-city play competitive volleyball. In doing so, they are encouraged to maintain high academic achievement and good community relations while focusing on the pursuit to attend college. Throughout the fall season, teams compete in either the SoCal Volleyball or SCVA volleyball organizations.

In general, participation in this program incur a large expense. Often more than 7K per season and culminate with expenses for nationals ranging from 2K to 3K per athlete. An expense not affordable by many families. This year’s team graduates six seniors who seek opportunities to play at the next level, college. Donations will help each athlete pay for incurred expenses to travel where they will compete among some of the best youth programs and get exposure to the many college coaches seeking future athletes for their teams. Several members have received recognition, from such colleges as Rivier University, St. Thomas Aquinas, Cal Lutheran, Emanuel College, Boston College, and Cardinal Stritch to name a few. The present seniors will join a host of their brothers who have played and are playing at Universities throughout the U.S. Continuing with Club Wood’s previous success, your assistance in helping these athletes achieve another goal is greatly appreciated and will most certainly help them become change agents within the greater communities.
