We Stand Against Domestic Violence

Dear Friends,   Family and Community Members:

A group of diverse people has gathered as a team with the goal to help foster more
connection, compassion, authenticity, peace and abundance in our world.
Specifically,  we are supporting Domestic Violence Survivors and we are up to some amazing big stuff!

First, we have assembled and published a book with collected stories of hope and recovery from Domestic Violence Survivors and are now fundraising to be able to distribute it to many shelters and other service locations to offer support, inspiration and hope. The second part of our project is holding a community celebration in Bluffton, SC where survivors and the community will be invited to educational presentations, workshops, and activities including a giant "paint by numbers" mural that will build awareness for this important issue.

PLEASE consider donating what you can, even the smallest amount will help make a difference. We deeply appreciate any help you are able to give so we can make this
Vision become a reality.

Thank you!

Domestic Violence Facts:

Did you know every 20 seconds someone becomes a victim of domestic violence?
Domestic violence may include physical violence, sexual violence, threats of physical or sexual violence, emotional abuse that may lead to depression, anxiety or social isolation, economic abuse which involves controlling access to money, stalking which causes fear for person safety and/or the safety of others you care for.

During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men.

Its tendency to be passed down over generations makes it even more important that we develop effective methods for combating abuse.

Domestic violence accounts for 15% of all violent crimes.

We must empower, not stigmatize abuse victims. 1 in 3 women, 1 in four men have been victims of physical violence by an intimate partner during their lifetime.
1 in 7 women and 1 in 18 men have been stalked by an intimate partner during their lifetime. On a typical day there are more than 20,000 phone calls placed to domestic violence hotlines nationwide.

Domestic victimization correlates with a higher rate of depression and suicidal behavior.  Victims of intimate partner violence lose a total of 80 million days of paid work yearly.

The cost of intimate partner violence exceeds $8.3 billion per year.

Domestic violence can affect anyone of any age economic status or
gender. https://youtu.be/V1yW5IsnSjo
