Hi everyone, Joe here. As some of you know last weekend Clov started showing distressed behavior, labored breathing, slight difficulty with motor skills. It was soon obvious that he needed to go to the emergency veterinary clinic, and he ended up having to stay overnight. There were moments that were very scary, and confronting the thought that this might be it for our boy.
It turns out Clov has pulmonary edema and congestive heart failure and that was causing inflammation in his heart as well as the difficulty breathing. Lucky for him and us, the care he got at the vet likely saved his life. He was on oxygen until his breathing stabilized and the meds they gave him decreased his inflammation. Clov is now doing much much better. We are so grateful that he is back at home and back to his spunky self. However, the meds and care he received were expensive, and dear friends and family helped us pay for the bill and we need to pay them back. A few people reached out and wanted to know if they could contribute to his medical bills, so I have put this go fund me together as a way to make that easy to do. If you know Clov or me and brie, and are so inclined, donate here to help us pay this money back. Anything you can contribute, money, or warm wishes and thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Clov has brought an incredible amount of joy not only to Brie and me, but also many friends and people he has met in his long life (13years old!) a kind thought or a few dollars would help us keep him around for a while. Thank you to everyone that has reached out, your friendships and thoughts have been a boon to us in these tough times.
