Christmas will be different for everybody this year but the theme "Impossible Choices" reflects the really hard situation families on Low Incomes face in the lead up to Christmas.
St Vincent De Paul Clonakilty helped nearly 250 families last year to the tune of €130 K to keep there heads above water whether it was help with putting food on the table, heating or electricity costs or helping parents to fund their child's educational costs.
To continue to do this work we require funds urgently. The need for donations this year has been exacerbated by the fact that there can be no SVP church gate collections this year due to the Pandemic.
As Ryan Tubridy put it when launching our Christmas Appeal:
"Poverty is never easy to confront and yet, every Christmas it is impossible to ignore. Never has it been so important as in 2020 in the middle of a pandemic, and when people are on their knees wondering what do to next, wondering how to pay the next bill or fill the schoolbag with books, and how they will feed their family every night”
