UPDATE: My surgery date was moved up to March 19th, and hoping to raise funds sooner <3

Hi there, my name is Clo, and I am raising funds for my Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS) recovery! ♡ I am a 23-year-old trans woman living in New York City. You may know me as Ashtroyd from drag, as a diva doll in nightlife, as your favorite transgender barista, or simply as a kind friend. Before I say anything else, thank you so much for reading and even considering donating or sharing. I feel so grateful to have a loving community that I can ask for support from. With that said, I would like to share more about my story. :’)

I began my social transition while living in Tallahassee, Florida, in 2021, but I have never publicly shared that I originally started my medical transition in January 2023. Shortly after, I stopped due to fear for my safety while living in the South and the instability of state legislation surrounding trans healthcare. During this time, I focused on saving to move to NYC. Once I arrived, I was fortunate enough to be connected with state health insurance for transgender people, and I was able to begin my medical transition again in January 2025.

During the two-year break in my medical transition, I struggled with feeling like my features were becoming more masculine the longer I wasn’t on hormones, and that was when I knew FFS was something I hoped would one day be possible for me.

Words cannot describe how much the past year of my transition has meant to me, both discovering my womanhood and, even more so, finding sisterhood with other dolls here in the city. Hormone replacement therapy has helped me feel much more connected to my body, mind, and spirit, but truthfully, it hasn’t always been enough to reflect my identity as I meet new people, strive to further my career, and move through life in general. FFS is the next step for me in alleviating dysphoria and helping ensure my safety as a trans woman living in today’s world.

After five months of consultations and follow-ups, I am beyond happy to say that I have a surgery date set for March 19th, 2026! I have spent time with my surgeon thoughtfully considering the procedures needed to achieve my goals for feminization, and I feel confident in the plan we’ve created together. :D

Since I am having reconstructive work done on both the upper and lower regions of my face, my recovery time will include about six weeks of bruising and swelling, with up to three months for swelling to be unnoticeable. Because I work a physically demanding service job, I am hoping to take enough time off to recover; however, paid leave is not an option. :/

It is likely that dysphoria, anxiety, and depression may worsen immediately following FFS until everything settles, which is something I am extremely worried about. Because of this, I am hoping to ideally take 6–8 weeks off from my customer-facing job so I can return to work healed and confident in my results.

The income I will lose from time taken off work, as well as recovery expenses not covered by insurance, totals around $5,000. I will do everything in my power to cover as much as I can myself, but if you are willing to help by donating or sharing my fundraiser, I would be filled with eternal gratitude.

Thank you, thank you, thank you times a million for your time, care, shares, and donations.

Forever yours,
Clo
