Clive’s Post Transplant Medical Expense Fund
Don protégé
Hello, my name is Louisa and I’m seeking your partnership for my brother’s medical expenses after having a successful bi lateral lung transplant. You see, my big brother Clive Phillip always had (from birth) a severe cough, shortness of breath and as time went on became prone to pneumonia and frequent lung infections. Over the years, these conditions resulted in numerous hospitalizations especially as he got older.
It was not until he was 42 years old that he was properly diagnosed as having Cystic Fibrosis. He struggled with the effects of the disease privately and required an increased use of oxygen as his condition worsened. His lungs were failing and he would eventually need a bi lateral transplant . His diagnosis served as a reminder to not take life for granted. Clive continued to support his community through various organizations. He supported their events and also donated his time as a volunteer.
Clive was placed on the National transplant list and was given a new lease on life when he received the call that the transplant team had located lungs for his transplantation. It is not lost on us that the donor lungs were gifted to him as a result of someone’s loss of life. We’re immensely grateful and pray for that donor as well as their family.
On August 25th, 2021, Clive thankfully received his new lungs. The surgery presented its own set of completions but he pulled through. A prolonged hospital stay and rehabilitation is necessary for viability. He is facing a long and difficult road to recovery and a course of life time anti-rejection meds as well as mounting medical expenses.
This fund was created for Clive to focus on his recovery and to cover the aforementioned transplant related medical expenses including rehab.
We (Clive’s family) are thankful for all those who have rallied around us, our family and friends especially. The outpouring of prayers and support uplifted us. We thank you in advance for your support/ partnership. Any and all contributions are genuinely appreciated. Please continue to hold Clive in prayer.
