Clippy's Dad Counts on Community Kindness

Hello friends, family & comrades! My name is James, (though some of you may know me as Nestor, or simply as the dog dad of the beloved cryptozoological wonder). I am raising money to help cover basic living expenses as I struggle with my disability and longterm unemployment.

I have a congenital degenerative disc disorder that has required half a dozen surgeries over the past fifteen years, and leaves me requiring mobility aids and suffering from intense, chronic sciatica. The last few months especially have seen a significant flare-up that has been leaving me bedridden for days at a time.

In the summer of 2022, I was caught in a wave of layoffs at my nonprofit job, after a decade of political and campaign work. I have been able to scrape by with various short term contractor gigs, but haven't found real employment in nearly two years. My monthly expenses like rent, healthcare & vetcare bills, groceries and utilities amount to around $2,500. I have long ago drained my savings and am having trouble making ends meet.

Just this month, I finally secured a new fully-remote customer service job, starting mid-January. This brings hope— but in the meantime I am actively struggling to pay bills that are past due and coming due over the next few weeks.

Any amount you can contribute would be a tremendous help during this difficult stretch.
