UPDATE AUG 28: Clint has been moved to a hospice where he can spend his last few days with his loved ones.

UPDATE: the cancer has sadly spread to his brain. He is now confused and having difficulty speaking and walking. He is currently admitted to the hospital now, unsure of what comes next..

My stepdad has to plan his funeral during his last few months of living…

Hi my name is Chelsea Young and I’m creating this go fund me on behalf of my stepdad Clinton Wood. As I write this, tears stream down my face knowing the end is approaching so quickly for my dad. Clint was faced with terrible news in February of 2025. It started with a horrible cough and chest pain which lead to investigations in the hospital. The doctors quickly diagnosed him with stage 4 small cell cancer. The oncologist estimated Clint has 3-12 months left before the cancer takes his life. He has been receiving chemotherapy, radiation and immunotherapy as recommended by his healthcare team but this is only to prevent the cancer from spreading and won’t treat the initial cancer. Clint is only 55 years old. He’s an amazing and loving partner to my mom. He has made a big impact in my life and has been an amazing father figure to me. He has four beautiful children of his own, and three stepchildren. Two of his children are grown up and his other two are still dependant on him at the young ages of 10 and 12. Clint lost his mother at a young age and he remembers the pain and trauma this caused him, it breaks his heart to know that his youngest children will experience the same pain he was forced to. He had so many plans for his life, he had a full life ahead of him. Clint will not be here to see his youngest children go on their first date, go to high school, graduate and then go off to college. Clint will not be here to watch them grow up and get married and have children of their own. One day soon he will hug and kiss his children for the very last time and this haunts him. He will share his last embrace with my mom. Share his last smile and laugh with us all. Clint just welcomed two new grandchildren and they won’t get to know how amazing their grandpa really was. Clint no longer gets to carry out any of his future plans with family because there’s no longer a future awaiting him. Clint has to set up his own funeral while he’s living because the end is approaching fast.
