Clint Johanson is a lot of things to a lot of people. For his four daughters, he's a caring and dependable father, who has always been the rock in their lives. For his wife Stephanie, he's a loving and devoted husband. Clint's a legendary bass fisherman, a vicious snowmobiler, an amateur brewer, and a great dad.
Clint and his wife also run their construction company, Shelbyco. As a general contractor, he’s been supporting his four kids for over twenty years.
On September 26, while on a white water rafting trip, Clint suffered a ruptured aneurysm in his brain. He was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where the surgeons were able to perform a series of surgeries to relieve the pressure in his brain and prevent future bleeding. There have been complications, but he has so far beaten the odds.
He spoke his first words on October 6th, and has been speaking a little more every day since. He’s recovering slowly but smoothly now, and has a long road to recovery.
Clint is far from alone on that road. His wife has been by his side without fail, and his four daughters (Shelby, Rhiannon, Gillian, and Tamzin) visit him regularly. He’s been visited by his fishing buddies, snowmobiling companions, his coworkers at Shelbyco, and others besides. Richard Shaff, Jake and Ashley, Jeff and Kathy, Rob, Sandy, Maeleena, Roxann, Kevin, Carson, Kris… the list goes on. You all know who you are.
For anyone recovering from a brain injury, there are enough concerns to deal with on top of the ones from everyday life, but of course the world isn’t that easy. Mortgages, bills, food, and gas all start to stack up, and the medical bills haven’t dropped yet.
It costs money to put life on hold, and anything you can do to support him now can help. If Clint has ever touched your life, he’s never needed you more than now.
