In January 2026, I will be attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, whilst raising money for Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP). Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest free-standing mountain in the world and the highest point in Africa, standing at 5,895m above sea level. I will be attempting a 7-day hike with Plotpackers trekking through rainforest, heath, and alpine desert along the Machame route.
I would like to raise awareness of, and financial support for, a charity that works so hard to breakdown the barriers for physical and mental healthcare for the Palestinian people.
MAP's vision is a future where all Palestinians can access an effective, sustainable and locally led system of healthcare. They work to support a number of areas, including women and children’s health, disability care and mental health support. They also offer emergent aid during humanitarian crises and campaign for the rights of Palestinians, internationally.
Palestinians are experiencing occupation, displacement and tragic death, as part of a genocide that we are continuing to witness. I hope that through supporting charities like Medical Aid for Palestinians, we are able to support the Palestinian people towards a brighter future.
Even a small donation can make such a difference, helping to pay for clean water, antibiotics or hygiene products including nappies and sanitary products. It could also go towards funding the delivery of vital mental health care. Donations go where they are most needed.
Note, I am funding the cost of my own trip independently, so all money raised will go directly to MAP. I would hugely appreciate all and any donations to support this amazing charity and the work that they continue to do.
Love,
Esther
