Hi, I’m Rima, and this September, I’ll be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and raising essential funds for The Cinnamon Trust.
The Cinnamon Trust is the only national charity dedicated to helping older people and those with terminal illnesses care for—and plan for the future care of—their beloved pets. And by “all pets,” that welcomes all pets including dogs, cats, tortoises, ponies, ducks, sheep, and so many more.
With the support of an incredible network of thousands of volunteers across the country, The Trust offers practical, day-to-day support that helps owners and their pets stay together for as long as possible. Whether it's walking dogs, brushing cats, picking up pet food, cleaning bird cages, or taking pets to the vet, their help makes a real difference in everyday life.
One especially meaningful service is their short-term fostering during hospital stays. This means owners can focus on their recovery, comforted by the knowledge that their cherished companions are being looked after by kind volunteers who provide love, attention, and care until they can be reunited.
Another unique and touching level of support is The Trust’s Pet Profiling service. This allows owners to plan for their pets’ long-term care by sharing detailed information—everything from routines and medical needs to favourite foods and affectionate nicknames. Should an owner move into residential care or sadly pass away, The Trust ensures a smooth and loving transition for the pet, based on their needs and personality.
This thoughtful planning brings great peace of mind, knowing that their pets will continue to be cherished and cared for to the highest standard. Pets in The Trust’s forever care are either placed in carefully matched forever foster homes or welcomed into one of their two home-from-home sanctuaries—never in kennels or catteries.
All veterinary bills and special dietary needs are covered by the charity, making sure each Cinnamon pet receives the very best care, always.
This year marks The Cinnamon Trust’s 40th anniversary—four decades of compassion, commitment, and a growing community built on love and trust. Their services are offered at no charge, but they are not without expense. With my climb and fundraising, I hope to play a small part in helping them continue their incredible work for many more years to come.
On this journey, I’m grateful to have the support of Vetsure.
As dedicated partners of The Cinnamon Trust, they’ve kindly chosen to sponsor my climb as an extension of their ongoing support for the charity. After hearing about my climb, they’ve joined hands to help amplify my efforts and carry The Trust’s mission even further.
