Climbing for Mimi ... to help kick Ovarian Cancer's Butt!
Donation protected
On the 14th December 2023, my 13-year-old Daughter Skye lost her beautiful mother Mimi to Ovarian Cancer.
I lost my partner, love of my life and my best friend and the bravest, most courageous woman I've had ever known.
Mimi never gave up and refused to succumb to her illness.
Mimi made every day count and inspired everyone she met with her determination to restore her health.
Mimi never viewed her journey with Ovarian Cancer as a battle but as an opportunity to grow and show others how they could transform their health and never give up on life, no matter what challenges they faced.
To honour our Mimi’s beautiful spirit and help as many families as possible avoid the loss of their precious mothers, wives, sisters, and daughters, Tim (that's me) and my daughter Skye are undertaking an extraordinary challenge.
On December 14th 2024, the anniversary of Mimi’s passing, we will climb the height of Mount Everest — 29,032 feet — non-stop on an indoor Versa Climber machine.
Me at 56, and 13-year-old Skye will climb as a tag team non-stop.
We estimate the climb will take us over six hours.
It's a huge physical and mental challenge for us and our aim is to increase awareness of Ovarian Cancer, an often-silent killer that devastates families, as it did ours.
We are supporting the world's first-ever DNA-based early detection test for Ovarian Cancer, currently being developed in Sydney by the UNSW Gynaecological Cancer Research Group.
Despite being the deadliest female cancer, there is still no screening test for Ovarian Cancer.
We do not want our beautiful Mimi’s passing to be just another statistic.
Our goal is to share her story and inspire women everywhere to become more aware of this devastating disease.
We hope the screening test will save many lives and prevent many tears and that Mimi's story will inspire women everywhere to live the longest, healthiest lives possible.
