Climbing for Katie - Scafell Summit Challenge

We are Team Katie, and we’re fundraising for Katie Synnott, a 40-year-old mother of four who just two months ago was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive, incurable brain tumour - and could have only months to live. 95 per cent of Glioblastoma sufferers survive an average of 12-18 months, with only 25 per cent surviving more than a year.

The type of immunotherapy Katie will need for her tumour is not available on the NHS. She would need to be treated at a German clinic, and her family are desperate to get her there in a bid to prolong her precious life. Katie is facing an incredibly difficult time, and we want to offer our support in any way we can.

Our team—Lynsey, Rob, Lucy, Jane, Emma, Jordan, Harlan and Stuart—has come together for this cause. Seven of us worked with Katie, including her cousin Jane, and her sister Lucy is also joining us on the challenge. To raise money, we will be hiking Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain, standing at 978 meters (3,209 feet). This will be no easy feat—it’s a demanding trek with steep inclines, rough terrain, and unpredictable weather conditions. But every step we take will be for Katie and her family.

Although it’s been a number of years since we last saw Katie, she left a lasting impact on all of us through work. She’s a kind, strong, and devoted mother, and we want to help ease the financial burden on her and her family during this challenging time.
