CLIMBING BEN NEVIS FOR PKU
Donation protected
PKU is a rare metabolic disorder that prevents the body from breaking down the amino acid phenylalanine. This causes phenylalanine to build up in the blood and brain, which can lead to brain damage and intellectual disability if left untreated.
My nephew Bailey was diagnosed with PKU not long after birth. I would like to spread awareness and raise money for the Metabolic team at Great Ormond Street Hospital and the amazing work they do.
These funds will support:
- Specialist medical care and treatment for children with PKU.
- Ground-breaking research into better treatments and management of metabolic disorders.
- Essential resources to improve the experience of young patients and their families.
I am climbing Ben Nevis on June 29th and anyone who knows me will know that this isn't something I usually do. But this is for a great cause! It was either this or do a charity song…no one wants to hear that.
Thank you for your generosity and support!
