Climb For A Cure, Help Tony Fight Huntington's Disease
Tax deductible
Hello, my name is Tony Lutz, and soon, March 1st, I will be embarking on the experience of a lifetime...Hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa. I am doing so to raise money for, and bring awareness to, Huntington's Disease.
Huntington's Disease is an always fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It often strikes in the prime of a person's life, deteriorating their physical and mental abilities. It has no cure. The symptoms of Huntington's Disease are often described as having ALS, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's—all at the same time.
Huntington's has directly impacted me and my family. Taking the life of four individuals, including my wife Mary Beth in 2010. Most recently, it also took the life of my dear friend Bruce VanHorn in 2023.
The Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA) is the premier nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of everyone affected by the disease. It provides help for today, and hope for tomorrow for individuals with HD, and the families that support them.
Please support me in my journey to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, and more importantly, to support the individuals and families affected by this horrible disease. I am blessed to be supported by the Elkay Family Foundation. The Elkay Family Foundation has committed to matching every dollar raised up to $20,000. Every dollar raised will be donated to finding a cure for Huntington's.
