197 Summits – Giving Back to the Mountains and Their People
My name is Andreas Aschaber, and I’m on a mission to become the first person to climb the highest peak of every country in the world – 197 countries, 197 summits. So far I managed to climb 131 which puts me in the pile position. But this project is more than just about reaching the top. Along the way, I meet people, communities, and animals living in some of the world’s most remote and fragile mountain regions.
Through this journey, I’ve come to see how much small, direct help can change lives – if it goes exactly where it's needed.
That’s why I’m raising funds not just to complete this global climbing project, but to support carefully selected local initiatives I encounter along the way. These are not big NGOs – these are real people, doing meaningful work in their own communities.
Current projects I support include:
– The largest wild chimpanzee population in Sierra Leone (conservation & community work)
Tacugama Chimpanzee https://share.google/71B5MhIUHUIKVcKeF
– The Arhuaco people in Colombia (cultural and land rights preservation) Personal contact to the chief
- Boga lake Environment protection measurement in the highlands of Bangladesh - Personal contact (currently difficult due to acces restrictions for foreigners)
– The sustainable mountain hut initiative in Huaraz, Peru (Cordillera Blanca region)
Refugios Andinos https://share.google/qwoPdNVRZKLhEFcQ5
I choose projects where I personally know the people behind them and have seen the impact firsthand. That means your donation will have a direct and visible effect – no middlemen, no overhead.
Help me climb the world's summits – and uplift the people, animals, and cultures that live among them.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
