197 Summits – The Final Chapter

My name is Andreas Aschaber, and I am on a mission to become the first person to climb the highest mountain in every country on Earth – 197 countries, 197 summits.

After years of expeditions across deserts, jungles, glaciers, and some of the most remote places on our planet, I have now entered the final phase of this extraordinary journey.

Looking back, it is hard to believe everything this project has brought into my life: countless challenges and solutions, unexpected encounters, last-minute miracles, incredible landscapes, and the privilege of meeting people and cultures in places few travellers ever reach. Time and again, I have been reminded how much determination, support, and a bit of luck can make the impossible seem possible.

The remaining summits represent the greatest challenges of the entire project. They include some of the world's highest mountains, technically demanding climbs, remote regions, and countries where access, logistics, and security require extensive preparation and significant resources.

Yet this journey has never been only about reaching summits.

Along the way, I have met remarkable people, communities, and conservation initiatives living in some of the world's most fragile mountain regions. Through direct personal connections, I support carefully selected local projects that protect wildlife, preserve cultural heritage, and strengthen local communities.
