Aloha Family & Friends,
My name is Jamie Tengan Lim. I am the eldest niece of Clifton & Patricia Akiyama. Clif & Pat were born and raised in Lahaina, and their house burnt down during the tragedy that befell their hometown. They have lost everything except for the car that helped them escape to safety. Clif was an electrician and after retiring, is a commercial fisherman. He sold his catch to Lahaina restaurants. Pat is a retired school teacher from King Kamehameha III Elementary School. This school is gone now. It is their hope that just as sure as the sun sets, the sun will rise for them, and all of Lahaina's families to begin a new day. They will receive the funds directly to start rebuilding a home and creating new memories, as well as cherishing those memories that they hold dear. We are appreciative and grateful for whatever amount you can donate to help Clif & Pat rebuild their lives and future on Maui. They are not going to leave; this is their home and there is so much work that needs to be done. Mahalo, and our prayers go out to everyone affected by this fire.
